The Senior IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day administration of the server and network infrastructure and related systems. The candidate must possess a professional demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors and customers. The right candidate will have a successful track record of working independently with little supervision as well as within a team. Effective multi-tasking is a must. The candidate should be willing to work off-hours as needed. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience supporting critical Infrastructure in an enterprise environment.


Design, implementation, administration, and support for ongoing infrastructure and security initiatives as well as new projects.

Maintain current documentation as well as developing and documenting new policies and procedures.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies.  Research, test and provide recommendations to increase cost effectiveness, system stability and drive the continual evolution of our environments.

Help build, test and install new servers, switches, routers, storage, and other IT hardware as required.

Help develop solutions to ensure server capacity, system utilization, availability, and application performance meets established business requirements.

Maintain compliance and SLA’s as required.

Help lead new security and compliance initiatives.

Advise and assist in defining security risks, requirements and solutions for existing and new IT systems and applications.

Mentor, encourage and provide training for junior team members.

Perform related duties as assigned or requested.


10 years of hands on IT experience.

7 years’ experience supporting critical Infrastructure in an enterprise environment.

7 years’ experience working with server virtualization technologies.

5 years’ experience in a regulated change management controlled environment.

5 years’ experience working with switches, routers, and firewalls.

4 years’ experience in IT security.

Expert understanding of Windows server and desktop operating systems.

Expert troubleshooting skills.

Strong documentation, policy and procedure writing skills.

Strong SAN and Fiber Channel skills.

Strong Cisco switching skills.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.

Good project management skills.

Good SCCM, SCOM skills.

Must be able to sit, stand, walk regularly and lift up to 50 pounds.

Must read, write and speak English.

Cisco ASA firewalls, NX-OS and IOS switches and routers

HP, Dell, and Cisco UCS servers

Cisco Anyconnect support

Brocade and Cisco Fiber Channel switches

Netapp, Dell, HP, and Nimble SANs

Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Wireless

VOIP 8x8 administration

Office 365 administration

Linux administration (Redhat, Centos)

IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Java installation, configuration and support

SSL certificate procurement, installation and support

Windows based PKI

Veeam or other ENT backup tools

Symantec, TrendMicro, Microsoft or other antivirus and endpoint protection software

Security audits, SOX, SOC2, ISO27001

NMAP, Nessus, Metasploit or other vulnerability and pen testing tools

IDS/IPS installation, configuration and support

Racking, stacking, and troubleshooting in a Tier 3 DC environment

SharePoint installation, configuration and support

SNMP, PRTG, PowerShell, BASH

Vendor certifications are a plus

Pharmaceutical work experience is a plus
